How the app checks for Pro

Each time it starts, AirMirror Pro asks the Microsoft Store on your PC whether your Microsoft account owns the AirMirror Pro upgrade, and the Store answers yes or no. That exchange is between the app, Windows and Microsoft. Nothing is sent to us, and the app collects nothing about you or your PC to do it.

If you buy the upgrade, Microsoft is the seller and processes the payment. We never see your card details, your name or your email address. Microsoft's handling of that data is governed by the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Licence keys from before the Store

Before version 3.0, Pro was sold directly as a licence key. If a key like that was activated on your PC, the app still honours it, and only then does it contact our licence server. If you never had a key, none of this applies to you.

A key-licensed copy sends two things over HTTPS: the key, and a Machine ID built from your system volume serial number and your CPU vendor and model identifiers (for example VOL:1A2B3C4D|CPU:GenuineIntel:000B06A2:BFEBFBFF). It identifies a machine, not a person, and contains no name, email address or location. The check happens when the stored answer is more than seven days old. Against the key we keep the Machine ID it is bound to, the date it was activated and the date it was last checked. The licence server runs on Vercel and stores these records in Supabase; Vercel's standard request logs include the IP address the check came from, and we do not use them to identify or profile anyone. A copy that cannot reach the server keeps working.

What the app does not collect

• No analytics or usage tracking of any kind
• No telemetry, crash reports, or diagnostic uploads
• No AirMirror Pro account and no email address. Buying Pro uses your Microsoft account, which Microsoft handles
• No advertising identifiers and no third party SDKs
• No update checker of our own; the Microsoft Store handles updates
• No copies of what you mirror, record, or screenshot

Apart from the Store check, and the licence-key check if you have a key, both described above, AirMirror Pro makes no outbound internet connections. The only other network traffic it generates is the AirPlay stream between your iPhone and your PC, which stays on your local network and never reaches us or anyone else.

When you control your iPhone from the PC, the app connects to the phone directly over Bluetooth, acting as a mouse and keyboard. That link carries only the pointer movement, clicks, scrolling and keystrokes you send while you are in control. It goes from your PC to your phone and nowhere else, and none of it is recorded or kept.

While the iPhone window is open, your PC advertises itself over Bluetooth as a keyboard and mouse, under its Bluetooth name, so the iPhone can find it. Like any Bluetooth accessory waiting to pair, it can be seen by other Bluetooth devices nearby during that time. It stops when you close the iPhone window or quit the app.

iPhone notifications and text replies

With Pro, once iPhone control is set up, AirMirror Pro shows your iPhone's notifications on your PC and lets you reply to texts from Messages. Both use the same direct Bluetooth link between your PC and your phone, and the standard ways iOS shares notifications and messages with a paired Bluetooth accessory. Nothing about them goes over the internet, and nothing reaches us or anyone else.

• What is read: each notification's app, title, text and time, as your iPhone shares it. When you open a reply, the app also looks up who sent that text in the phone's Messages inbox, so it can show you the name and number it is replying to.
• What is sent: only a reply you type and send with Enter, to the person shown. Nothing is sent on its own.
• Kept in memory only. Notifications are never written to disk. The list in the edge panel holds what arrived since your iPhone connected and is wiped when it disconnects or the app closes.
• Hidden from screen capture. Notifications are kept out of screenshots, screen recordings and screen shares. If Windows will not hide them, they are shown blanked instead. While NVIDIA Instant Replay is recording, they wait and appear once it stops.
• Diagnostics. The app's own diagnostic lines never contain message text or titles: only app names and IDs, your iPhone's name and phone numbers with most digits masked. They stay on your PC unless you choose to email us the details from Report a Bug, which you can read first.

You can turn notifications off at any time on the iPhone: Settings > Bluetooth, tap ⓘ next to your PC, and switch off Show Notifications.

AirPods

The Control Center shows your AirPods' battery levels by listening to the short Bluetooth broadcasts AirPods send out, the same ones an iPhone uses for its battery pop-up. The app only listens; it sends nothing to them except to connect them when you ask. To show your pairs again later, it keeps each pair's Bluetooth address, when it was last used, its last battery level and the ear-tip colour you picked, on your PC.

What stays on your computer

• Recordings, saved to the folder you choose
• Screenshots, saved to Pictures\AirMirror Screenshots
• If you had a licence key from before the Store: the key and the cached result of its last check, in your own Windows user registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER
• Application settings and window preferences, including your theme and language
• The Bluetooth addresses and name of the iPhone you set up for control, so the app only talks to that phone, and the AirPods details described above
• Diagnostic timing files, only if you switch them on by hand in the registry; they are off by default

All of it is on your disk, under your control, and can be deleted by you at any time. None of it is uploaded.

This website

This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no advertising scripts.

One thing is worth stating plainly anyway. The site is hosted on Vercel, whose servers keep standard request logs including IP addresses, as any web host does. That is not used by us to identify or profile you, and we do not receive it.

Typefaces are served from this domain, not from Google Fonts. Two things on the home page do come from elsewhere, and loading that page contacts their owners:

• The video is embedded from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), so YouTube does not set cookies until you press play. Loading and playing it is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
• The “Get it from Microsoft” badge is loaded from Microsoft's own servers, as Microsoft supplies it, which is covered by the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

No other page loads anything from a third party.

The release notification list

If you enter your email address in the “Get told when the next version ships” box, we store that address so we can tell you when a new version of AirMirror Pro is released. Giving it is entirely optional and nothing else on this site or in the app depends on it.

We delete your address 30 days after you give it to us, automatically, whether or not a release went out in that time. This is deliberate. A mailing list that is never emptied only grows, and so does the harm if it ever leaks; keeping addresses for a fixed short window means the most that could ever be exposed is the last 30 days of signups. It also means this list cannot be used for marketing, which is the point.

Two days before your address is deleted we email you to say so, so the removal is never silent. If you still want notifications at that point, signing up again starts a fresh 30 days. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link that removes your address immediately, and your mail client's own one-click unsubscribe works too.

Alongside the address we store only the date you signed up, the date it will be deleted, and whether the warning email has been sent. We do not store your IP address, your name, your browser, or where you came from. The list is never sold, never shared, and never given to an advertiser. It is used for release notices and nothing else.

The address is held in our database at Supabase and the notification emails are sent through Resend; both process it on our behalf and neither uses it for their own purposes.

Children

AirMirror Pro is not directed at children. The app itself collects no personal information from anyone, so it collects none from children either. The one place this site accepts personal information is the optional notification list described above, which asks for an email address and nothing else; we do not knowingly keep addresses given by children, and any address is deleted within 30 days regardless.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Should the app ever gain a feature that genuinely needs to send something over the internet, that will be described here before the feature ships, and it will be something you opt into rather than something switched on for you.
